How do I cancel my subscription?
Your subscription belongs to the store you bought it from, so you cancel it there. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel it.
- iPhone or iPad: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Choose Frontyard and tap Cancel Subscription.
- Android: open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Choose Frontyard and tap Cancel subscription.
You can also get there from the app: open the menu, tap Configuration, then Manage subscription.
Cancel before your free trial ends and you won’t be charged. After a paid period starts, you keep Frontyard until the end of it.
Why does Frontyard need “Always” location access?
Frontyard notices when you’re outdoors on its own, without you pressing anything, by checking about once a minute — including when the app is closed. Your phone only lets an app do that in the background with Always location access (Allow all the time on Android). With “While Using the App” alone, tracking pauses whenever Frontyard isn’t on screen. It also asks for motion access, to tell when you’re in a vehicle.
We only detect whether you’re outdoors. Your phone keeps a week of where you’ve been so you can check your past sessions, and your exact location never leaves it. Two things do: the Known Places you choose to save, and a coarse area used to look up the UV where you are.
What are Known Places for?
Known Places are places you spend time indoors — home, the gym, your favorite coffee shop. Frontyard always treats them as indoors, which helps it tell when you’re really outside.
Draw each one tight to the building. A yard, patio or driveway around it is outdoors, and should stay that way.
To add or change one, open the menu and tap Known places. You can also save one straight from a session: open it in Session history and tap Save as a Known Place.
How do I correct a session?
Open the menu, tap Session history, choose the day, then tap the session.
- Edit start time or Edit end time if it began or ended at the wrong moment.
- Dismiss — not outdoors if you weren’t outside at all.
- + Add session logs outdoor time Frontyard missed.
The original is kept, so a correction never loses anything. Recent days can be corrected on your phone; older days still show their total, but their sessions can no longer be edited there.
When you correct a session, the sensor readings Frontyard ran on for those minutes, and the minutes leading into them, are sent to help improve detection — and nothing else. They never record where you are. To stop that, turn off Share corrections in Configuration.
